English Essay Contrasting Horse and TJ\par
\par
Both short stories "Antaeus" and "A Man Called Horse" have very unique characters. These two are very much a like, but also in many ways very different. In this essay I'll be discussing these similarities and differences.\par
\par
One similarity between the two is that they both came into a new and completely different situation and earned social status. Though, in one situation, this was accomplished much faster then the other. TJ arrived in town, and within the first day was accepted by the boys. On the otherhand, Horse arrives, and at first is treated like a dog, and has to work his way up to complete acceptance.\par
\par
Another strong similarity between the two is how they both kept a level head during everything in there tasks. TJ didn't get anxious and do something stupid that ruined his garden, and Horse put up with a lot, without being swayed from his goal. \par
\par
A fairly large difference in the two, is the outcome of the stories. In the end of "Antaeus" the garden is destroyed, and TJ runs away, to be found 2 weeks later. In the end of "A Man Called Horse" Horse, after being treated as an equal by the men, and waiting behind for his "mother" to die, returns home to speak very little of his life with the Crow tribe.\par
\par
All around, these characters are very differnt, but they are similar in a few ways. Both stories have very different writing techniques, and its strange to see so many similarities between them. \fs20\par
